What did you want to be when you were a child?

I wanted to be on Saturday Night Live! I loved watching Phil Hartman, Jan Hooks, Dana Carvey, Dennis Miller, and Al Franken—heck, the whole crew was hysterical. I was drawn to the way they made people laugh and connected through comedy. That’s where I first saw the power of humor to bring people together.

In moments of self-doubt or adversity, how do you build yourself back up?

Honestly? Humor. It’s my lifeline. Sure, things can go wrong—but they can also go really right. I’ve learned that failure is just as valuable as success. One teaches you; the other fuels you. Both are necessary for real growth.

What do you think the world needs more of? And what could it use a little less of?

The world needs more laughter. More grace to laugh at ourselves—and with each other. Laughter is healing in ways that words sometimes can’t be.
And on the flip side? Definitely less judgment and anger. Less intolerance of differing opinions. We don’t grow by staying in echo chambers—we grow by listening and being open to perspectives that challenge us.

Do you have a personal or professional motto that you live by?

Yes: “Set the bar high.” Because even if you only reach 75% of your goal, you’ve already moved mountains. That mindset keeps me aiming big, but also gives me permission to be proud of progress.

How do you start your mornings to set the tone for the day?

With music! I always play something that creates positive energy. The energy I carry with me into my work—especially when working with Veterans and individuals with disabilities—has to be calm, compassionate, and uplifting. I believe the way we show up matters, and I try to bring a soothing presence into every room I enter.

What workday rituals can you not live without?

Greeting every single client. Truly listening. And laughter—always laughter. Compassion is non-negotiable in my day, but so is joy. Those moments of connection are what keep me going.
