What does success mean to you?

In order to succeed, we need to define our goals, values and what we want out of our precious gift of life. Success is a life-long journey of repeated accomplishments and failures from which we learn and grow. My kind of successful people have healthy habits, they thrive on personal growth, think positivily, are kind, confident, and they give back to help make the world a better place.

What quotation inspires you and motivates you to be yourself and do what you love?

My tagline is Love Yourself, Invest in Health. During my personal journey, I have overcome an eating disorder in my twenties and a thyroid disorder in my thirties. Through these struggles, I learned to understand my habits, my behavior, my emotions and that our bodies are extremely capable of healing – much more than we have been taught to believe.

My passion for helping people and for health led me to become a Certified Health Coach. I am passionate about empowering women to take charge of their health and it truly starts from loving yourself first. Women are often so busy putting everyone else first and often health is the first thing to take a back seat. I want women to know it’s ok to put them selves first and how important self-care is in their lives. Only until then, can they be the best version of themselves for everyone else.

Name a fear or professional challenge that keeps you up at night?

Starting this Health Coaching business has been way more challenging than I ever could have imagined. I am so passionate about helping people improve their health through: Lifestyle in how we live; Exercise in how we move; Attitude in how we think; And nutrition in how we eat. Seventy-five percent of diseases are preventable! I want people to realize their potential when it comes to taking charge of their health. You can pay for a health coach now, or pay for healthcare later.

What is your personal or professional motto?

My motto is to Carey-On. This was a nickname from my aunt Margaret who died of an aneurysm only one month after her 50th birthday. In life, we need to cherish every day and Carey-On has a funny story that I’ll cherish forever. Our health journeys can be difficult and when we are struggling, eating off plan, missing a workout, stressed out or similar, remember to love yourself first and Carey-On. Remember to keep going, forget about it, be kind to yourself, move on and never put yourself down. The faster we recover, the faster we will succeed.

What’s the first thing you do every morning to start your day off on the right foot?

The first thing I do every morning to start off on the right foot is put my workout clothes on. I then drink one cup of coffee, journal and get in a workout–most days of the week.

Working out in the morning has many benefits. It gets your metabolism going, ehances your mood, releases feel good hormones, increases confidence, and you get it done before any excuses arise.

If you were given $10 million, would you run your business any differently? How so?

If I were given ten million dollars, I would absolutely run my business differently. First, I would hire people to do the things I don’t like doing or need more help with such as marketing and social media. I would continue to perfect my speaking and coaching career because I thrive on educating, motivating and inspiring people to take charge of their health. Most importantly, I would expand my reach to empower younger girls because teaching them about self-love and confidence at a young age will do unbelievable things to shape their lives in a positive way.
