Thanks for participating in Boss Babes, Ashli! You have your own medical practice. Tell us about that.
I opened my business, Wellness & Hormone Health, in December of 2020. This was still a challenging time during the pandemic because getting medical supplies was problematic. It was also challenging because my children were 8-months and 2-years-old at the time! A common theme among all entrepreneurs is persistence and the ability to charge ahead in spite of obstacles.
The populations I serve are men and women who are just wanting to feel better in their day-to-day lives. I offer hormone replacement therapy, functional medicine, medical weight loss, thyroid management, and peptide therapy.
What was the inspiration for starting this business?
Starting my own business meant freedom to me. Freedom to be available for my little one's activities and for us to take trips and make memories. I was also inspired to start my own clinic because I wanted to provide patients with a different kind of care. One that provides Individualized care, where I can take my time and listen to their issues and concerns and address them all without being rushed.
What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced in growing this business?
The biggest challenge I have faced in growing my business is that first and foremost I am a Nurse Practitioner. I was never taught how to run a business I was self-taught by surrounding myself with other successful business owners. Being around powerful driven entrepreneurs has inspired me to change course and expand to areas out of my comfort zone which has led to success.
What is your vision for the future of Wellness & Hormone Health?
My vision for the business is to continue growing by adding staff and other services while continuing to provide holistic care that is specific and individualized to support the patient's needs.
Why do you do what you do? And what's your favorite thing about what you do?
Being an ICU nurse for 8 years I saw the worst of the worst. I wanted to be on the preventative side using supplements and more natural ways to keep people healthy. My favorite part of what I do is giving patients back their energy and quality of life that they were missing. Seeing their mood and relationships improve brings me so much joy and satisfaction.
At the end of your career, what is the legacy that you hope to leave behind?
The legacy I want to leave is knowing that I have made a difference in the lives of every patient who walked through my clinic door big or small.
