Can you start by telling us who you are?

Who am I? Ha! We don’t have time for that. In short, I am a spiritual being in human form, using my unique talents and gifts to co-create with, through, and as Consciousness. What am I co-creating? Honestly, I just listen to the inner guidance and follow what I’m being called to do. And daily, I practice unapologetic joy. (Stick with me and I’ll show you how to get there.)

I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. After getting my B.S. in Education, I joined AmeriCorps*NCCC and was sent to Denver. I did community service projects with them for two years and then started teaching at Denver Academy, a school for kids who learn differently (isn’t that all of us?). I reignited my love for acting and started taking classes in improv and on-camera work and in 2009 signed with my first agent, Big Fish Talent. In January 2014, I moved to L.A. to further my acting training and career. After three years there, I came back to Denver where I continue to book film and commercial work.

In 2016 I realized I was struggling with unresourceful relationship patterns and self-sabotaging financial habits. I was introduced to Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and it changed my life completely. I’m now a certified NLP practitioner so I can help others have similar breakthroughs in their lives. In addition to pursuing my Master Level NLP certification, I will be a licensed Spiritual Practitioner by June 2021 and am currently attending school at the Holmes Institute to get my Masters in Consciousness Studies.

What exactly is NLP?

There are a lot of definitions of what NLP is and every practitioner is a little different. Like anything, the best way to really understand what it is is to experience it. I call it life coaching for the unconscious mind. Our unconscious mind holds 100% of everything we’ve ever seen, heard, tasted, smelled, or experienced in our whole life but it deletes, distorts and generalizes the information based on our values and beliefs. That’s why we all perceive the world very differently. NLP is a type of coaching that breaks unwanted patterns, beliefs, or habits and heightens resources, making it possible for clients to see results a lot faster than talk therapy!

What’s your favorite thing about what you do?

I literally get to see changes taking place in my clients. It’s not something like donating money and hoping the right people get what they need; I get to experience the shifts right before my eyes and see how powerfully NLP can change a belief and instill resources.

Do people have to meet with you in person?

Mobile Lighthouse practitioners work over Zoom and therefore we can coach anyone in the world with good WiFi. Using NLP, clients learn more about themselves and others so that they can be better communicators.

What is your motto or favorite quote?

“Care more than the world thinks is wise. Dream more than the world thinks is practical. Risk more than the world thinks is safe. Expect more than the world thinks is possible.” — Dr. Roger W. Teel

My saying is “Be the Light.” As in, Be the Light you wish to see in the world.

Are there any myths about NLP you’d like to bust?

NLP works! Period. However, even with a practitioner guiding a client through a process, if a client does not WANT to change, it won’t work. Therefore, we (at Mobile Lighthouse) only take clients who are really ready for change to happen in their life. Then, we can work as a team to create the change they are seeking.

When people come to you for your services, what are the most common areas of life or topics that people want to address?
Great question! It’s really all over the board. It can all be narrowed down to self-sabotage, but it comes in the form of challenges with relationships, work, money, health, and life purpose.

What are your ambitions for your future? Have your ambitions changed since turning 40?

I have so many ambitions. My dream is for Mobile Lighthouse to become a community of diverse people reaching to become the highest version of themselves and a go-to arena for self-development through NLP and beyond. I believe that life (for all) would be more peaceful and joy-filled when all of us are being the best versions of ourselves.
