You own a med-spa in Littleton, CO. What sets you apart from other businesses in your industry?
First, not many providers in aesthetics have such an extensive medical background. Based on years of procedural experience as a Physician Assistant in Level 1 trauma centers, I bring a high level of medical professionalism and knowledge to the table so that my patients can feel safe and confident in the procedures they are undergoing.

Second, I truly feel that customer service is a lost art in this day and age. I know my clients have a choice when it comes to their cosmetic provider and I always make sure they know they can contact me 24 hours a day on my personal cell phone. My biggest priorities are safety and assuring that my patients get the results they deserve. I always focus on the patient, their vision of confidence, and their outcome; never on profits. Through this mentality, I have been able to build lifelong relationships with my clients and have an intimate understanding of their needs and goals.

What led you to your current profession?
After graduating from PA school at Duke University (Go Blue Devils!), I worked for nearly 15 years in Emergency Medicine primarily as a proceduralist, repairing complex facial lacerations. Since founding Biomend Aesthetics and Wellness, I still have the opportunity to practice medical facial anatomy, but more importantly, I get to build long-lasting relationships and bring joy to people each day.

What's your favorite thing about what you do?
My favorite moments are seeing a patient look in the mirror for the first time after a procedure and get tearful. There is nothing more powerful than seeing a woman, particularly a mother like myself, regain her confidence after years of consistently putting others first. Women deserve to feel confident and happy when they look at themselves in the mirror and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to bring back that sense of spirit and fulfillment to those deserving women.

How would you like people to describe you or see you?
I always strive to be empathetic and compassionate; balancing that with hard work and the goal to constantly be learning and increasing my knowledge in my profession.

Do you have any exciting ambitions for the future?
My husband and co-founder of Biomend, Dr. Andrew Coleman, and I are thrilled to announce that we will be opening a new, state-of-the-art Aesthetics and Wellness Center in Littleton, CO this winter 2021! This has been a dream in the making for several years, and we are so ecstatic to finally make it a reality. We will be combining Dr. Coleman's expertise in integrative medicine and wellness optimization with my medical aesthetics services, as well as bringing on some new talented team members to diversify our treatment offerings. Our goal is to be a pillar in our community for all of our patients' aesthetics and wellness needs, so that they can both look and feel their best both inside and out.

Are there any myths you'd like to bust about your profession?
Sometimes people think that getting a cosmetic procedure will make them look fake or unlike themselves. This couldn't be farther from the truth! The key thing to keep in mind is going to an aesthetics provider who has extensive medical experience and who also takes the time to listen to your goals. My philosophy is that less is more. I always strive to enhance your natural beauty, not mold you into a celebrity or an unrealistic version of yourself. I want you to feel refreshed when you look in the mirror, and maybe 5-10 years younger, but still you. No two faces are the same, and no two treatment plans are the same. I take a customized approach to everything I do and I help my clients achieve their goals in a natural, beautiful way. This is an art that has taken years of practice, and one I truly take pride in.
