Thanks for participating in Boss Babes, Natalie! You’re the founder and CEO of Rocky Mountain Title, a title insurance company. What advice would you give to a newbie entering your career field?
When you're starting at the bottom, it's easy to feel discouraged. But don't let that stop you from learning and growing. Pay attention to everything you can, and take advantage of every opportunity to learn more. Sit next to those who are more experienced than you, and listen to their calls and read their emails. You'll be surprised at how much you can learn just by observing and listening.
As a mom of four, what do you want your children to know about career success as they enter the workforce?
Hard work always pays off and once you get to the top remember WHO put you there and why. Go out and do good in the world as the world needs more love.
Starting a business is not easy. What has been the most important lesson you've learned as an entrepreneur?
"You can't pour from an empty cup." This means that you need to take care of yourself before you can take care of others. If you are not feeling well, both physically and emotionally, it will be difficult to believe in yourself or achieve your goals. Remember, all things are possible. We are capable of great things if we believe in ourselves and our abilities.
Does Rocky Mountain Title have any key achievements in that you're particularly proud of?
Yes! In our first year of business, we received the award for Best Title Company from Best of Mile High!
You can’t win an award like that without having an amazing team. What advice can you share about choosing the right team members?
The team of people you choose to surround yourself with will have a profound impact on your success. When you work with people who are aligned with your goals, you are more likely to be motivated, productive, and successful.
Make sure your goals align. This is probably the most important factor. If you are working with people who have different goals, you will be constantly pulling in different directions. Next, you’ll want to find people who are supportive and encouraging. You want to be surrounded by people who believe in you and your abilities. They should be willing to help you when you need it, and they should celebrate your successes. You’ll also want to kook for people who are talented and skilled. You want to be surrounded by people who can help you reach your full potential. They should have the skills and knowledge that you need to succeed. And finally, choose people who are fun to be around. After all, you will be spending a lot of time with these people. Make sure you enjoy their company and that you feel comfortable working with them.
If you can do these things, you will be well on your way to success.
What's your favorite thing about what you do?
My favorite part of this job is working with newer real estate agents. I love filling their cup with positivity and encouragement.
