Jenifer, this is your time to shine! Tell us a little more about your career path and who you serve.
I am the sole owner of 360 Real Estate Inc., serving clients in the Denver Metro area and all along the Front Range.
The definition of a Realtor is a person who acts as an agent for the sale and purchase of buildings and land, in particular, a member of the National Association of Realtors; a real estate agent. But that sounds boring, and I am so much more than that! I’m in the industry of serving people and match making.
I consider myself a matchmaker for my buyers and a stepping stone for my sellers. I am the professional guide buyers rely on when looking for their first home, forever home, or money-making home. I am the marketing and price-setting expert my sellers trust to help them sell one of their largest life investments.
At times I am a counselor, advice giver, shoulder to lean on, listener, and adopted daughter. And almost always, I become a friend to my clients. As you can see, I’m much more than just a "Realtor.” Realtor is my professional title, but my clients make it much more than that for me.
Knowing you personally, I can see how you would become so close with your clients, which is a wonderful quality! So, what inspired you to start your real estate business?
I think the real question should not be what inspired me but who inspired me to start my business. And that would be three men: my former bosses, Mark & Dave, and my oldest son, Isaiah.
I started working in the real estate world part-time for Mark and Dave, who, at the time, were the owners of 360 Real Estate Inc. I was a young, single mom just happy to be at work with ambitious and successful people. They made driving 45 minutes each way worth it. Mark and Dave saw something in me that I didn't even see in myself and helped me obtain my real estate license. Although unsure of myself (and scared), I dove in head first and started my real estate career.
My son gave me the motivation to succeed because I knew he needed me to be the best I could be. Every day I pushed myself to meet and exceed my goals. As I reflect at the end of each year, I don't think I would be here today if it weren't for these three incredible men. Now, I have even more support and motivation with my Mom & Pops, who have always been my biggest supporters, my husband who encourages and supports all my dreams, and my two younger boys, Deuce & Dominic!
Knowing what you know now, how do you measure success, and how has that changed over time?
When I first entered the real estate world, I thought success was measured by the number of homes sold. Now I know it's not about that at all. Success is about the people you connect with, the relationships you build, and the help you provide.
I love the smiles and excitement from my first-time home buyers, and I enjoy answering their questions to help put them at ease. I love hearing my sellers' bittersweet memories as they sell their homes and move on to new adventures.
I appreciate how my clients open up to me and how I can open up to them. Having open communication lines with my clients has helped me create both business relationships and lifelong friendships. Because of all my clients, I have been successful throughout my career!
How has your industry changed since you began, and how do you stay up-to-date with the latest trends?
In 2008, when I first started in the real estate industry, homes were priced a lot lower than they are now. Many people were going through foreclosures around this time due to the market crash.
Now, we’re in an entirely new market that seems to be changing daily. We experienced the peak of home prices last summer/winter, and now the market is coming to a new normal as the industry awaits to see what interest rates will do as spring/summer approaches.
I am always reading articles, talking to other professionals, taking classes, and watching the market to stay up to speed. My network of professionals is crucial in helping me stay on top of our changing market and prepare for the future.
What’s one takeaway you’d like people to know about the real estate industry?
Many people feel you need to have a lot of money saved up to buy a home, which is one of the biggest misconceptions. There are so many ways to buy a home with as little as $1,000 down! There are down payment assistance programs and different loan products that can help people buy their first, second, or even third home!
I would love for all the renters out there to know that owning a home is within reach and usually less expensive than renting!
I love quotes! Do you have a favorite success quote that resonates with you?
“Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.” - Herman Cain
This quote has always stood out to me…maybe because I genuinely love what I do. Selling dreams and building relationships is easy for me. I am passionate about it, so it seems more organic. Don't get me wrong; there is a ton of hard work and stress that comes along with it. But at the end of the day, I love what I do and couldn't imagine doing anything else. Well, unless I could ride horses for a living!
