Tell us about what you do in your career.
I’m a mortgage broker, with the ability to serve Colorado and most states coast to coast. I am a native to Colorado and love living at the foot of Pikes Peak. I love serving my community by providing affordable mortgages! As a broker, I have access to a vast array of products I can offer realtors and buyers alike. I offer all the popular loans such as conventional, VA and FHA. But I also offer "outside the box" loans such as no-income investment loans, bank statement loans for self employed buyers with no tax returns or even a no income loan for a primary residence. I also love serving our military as they do so much to serve and sacrifice for us. As a broker, I can shop over 100+ lenders to ensure you get the best rates, fastest closing, and the best education to know what you’re paying for. Customer service is my wheelhouse and at the heart of everything that I do. I take pride in providing a fantastic experience for my clients.
How are you different as a mortgage broker?
I am extremely competitive in my line of work because of the level of service I offer. When a buyer works with me, I am with them from application to the closing table and beyond. I don't pass them on to another department. I customize their loan to not only their present circumstances, but also with their future goals in mind. I ensure that their loan process is made as easy and as comfortable as possible. I am their leader, advocate and educator. I always guarantee that I have their best interest at heart, even if that means there is a better option for them than me. That doesn't happen often, but if it does I will be honest and hope to work with them in the future. The client’s best interest always comes first.
What inspired you to pursue this career path?
My career as a mortgage broker is my second career. I was a hairstylist and salon owner for 17 years. Right from the beginning, I aspired to serve people by making them look and feel their best. When I could no longer continue that career due to physical limitations, I sought after a career I could take my love of serving people and combine it with my love of financial planning. I always enjoyed financial coaching, but this allowed me to really dig in to helping people create real estate wealth and create a long term financial plan through real estate investing. I love supporting all types of buyers, from the first-time home buyer who needs lots of hand-holding to the seasoned investor who has a large portfolio.
What has been the most important lesson you've learned as a mortgage broker?
When I started my career as a mortgage broker, I had no idea how often I would feel like I was drinking from a firehose. What I mean by that, is that I was constantly learning something new or being faced with an unexpected challenge that needed to be resolved quickly and efficiently. It made me realize the importance of taking a step back and evaluating the whole picture, which allows me to better problem solve. I also was never afraid to ask questions or ask for advice. I have now been able to start my own team by leading other mortgage brokers in the journey of serving people through being compassionate and recognizing where I started. This industry is continuously evolving as regulations and products change. You can never know it all, so it's important to always approach this career with a mindset of learning.
Do you have a favorite success/career quote that resonates with you?
"It is never too late to be who you might have been". -George Eliot This resonates with me because when I was leaving my career as a hairstylist, I felt overwhelmed with starting a new career. As if I had missed what I was intended to do in the beginning. But the truth was, it was never too late to start the next chapter and be who I might have been.
At the end of your career, what is the legacy that you hope to leave behind?
I am committed to establishing a lasting legacy built upon unwavering integrity and a steadfast dedication to servanthood. I believe that by consistently upholding these values in my professional life, I can inspire positive change and leave a lasting legacy in my career. I also aim to leave a legacy as a professional who demonstrates the harmonious blend of motherhood and a successful career. Through my dedication to both roles, I strive to set an example that illustrates the possibility of achieving personal and professional fulfillment while maintaining a commitment to excellence in both areas of my life.
