Where were you in life when you decided to pursue your career path?
When I decided to start my real estate career, I was a young mother looking for more flexibility to raise my family. Leaving the practice of law was a significant career pivot, but I wanted to create a balance between my professional ambitions and my family life while choosing a field where my legal background would be an asset to my success.
Over the past 22 years, I’ve gained extensive experience in various aspects of real estate, including commercial properties, real estate investments, and construction projects. I’ve had the opportunity to work with two national builders, manage real estate professionals, and engage in buying and selling properties throughout the Denver metro area. This diverse background not only enriched my knowledge of the industry but also enhanced my ability to serve my clients effectively.
My legal background adds an extra layer of depth to my expertise, allowing me to navigate complex transactions with confidence. Overall, my journey has shaped me into a well-rounded real estate professional, dedicated to providing exceptional service and support to my clients.
What advice would you give about building a successful career in your field?
People matter most and are the most important aspect of any business. The relationships you build with clients, colleagues, and industry partners are invaluable.
These connections offer support, foster trust and collaboration, and significantly impacts ones success. When you invest in understanding and caring for the people you work with, you create a network that not only drives business but also enriches your professional life.
Ultimately, it’s the relationships that lead to repeat business, referrals, and a sense of community. This lesson has shaped my approach to my work, reminding me that at the heart of everything we do, it’s the people who make the difference.
What does the real estate industry need more of?
The world needs more cooperation. In a competitive field like real estate, it’s easy to focus solely on individual gains. But when we prioritize collaboration and mutual respect, we create a win-win situation that benefits everyone involved.
By working together—sharing insights, resources, and connections—we can elevate our industry and better serve our clients. Cooperation fosters a sense of community and trust, allowing us to tackle challenges more effectively and innovate in ways that we couldn’t achieve alone. By embracing collaboration, we not only enhance our own success but also contribute to a more supportive and thriving environment for everyone in the industry.
What do you believe has been the key to your success?
My commitment to going above and beyond for my clients! I believe that truly listening to their needs and concerns is essential to building strong relationships. By understanding their unique situations, I can provide tailored solutions that exceed their expectations.
This approach not only fosters trust but also encourages repeat business, which I see as a cornerstone of success. When a client returns to me or refers their friends and family to my services, it’s the highest compliment I can receive. It reflects their satisfaction and confidence in my work, and it drives me to continuously improve and provide exceptional service. Ultimately, my focus on client relationships has been instrumental in my success, creating a loyal network that supports my growth in the industry.
What does success mean to you?
To me, success is deeply rooted in the impact I have on others and the relationships I build. It’s not just about achieving personal goals or accolades; it’s about finding fulfillment in a meaningful job that allows me to help others and create genuine connections.
I believe that when my work leads to positive change in someone’s life, that’s a true measure of success. When clients become friends, it signifies trust and mutual respect, which are the foundations of lasting success. Ultimately, success is about waking up each day working hard and being excited to contribute to something bigger than myself, knowing that my efforts can help others thrive.
What’s the first thing you do every morning to start your day off on the right foot?
Every morning, I like to get up early to enjoy the quiet before the day begins. This peaceful time allows me to plan out my day thoughtfully. I start with a cup of coffee and a walk with my dog, Maple.
During my walk, I reflect on how I can best serve the people in my life—my clients, friends, and family. By prioritizing these relationships in my planning, I set a positive tone for the day ahead. This routine not only helps me stay organized but also reminds me of the importance of the connections I cherish, ensuring that I approach each day with intention and purpose.
