ESTHETICIAN
What led you to your current profession?
Skin has always been my passion! I had worked with skincare and cosmetics as a rep and makeup artist for over 23 years and decided I wanted to dive deep into the professional world. I own my own practice and love every minute of it. As professionals, we have to wear our faces with every single outfit we choose so why not take care of it? I believe it is a big part of taking care of yourself and feeling great. We offer a variety of both preventative and corrective treatments along with education to help you make better choices that lead to healthier younger-looking skin.
What's your favorite thing about what you do?
I love helping women and men correct skin damage and educating on prevention. I love helping a client feel more confident and relaxed after a facial.
How have your perceptions of life changed as you got older?
I am way more comfortable In my skin at 45. I have reached a certain level of peace with aging than I had in my younger years. I would also say I have a more grateful outlook on life.
In the past, what have been your biggest obstacles in business? What helped you overcome those obstacles?
Delegating and fear of the unknown were obstacles I had to overcome. What helped me is to realize how much more free time I had when I focused on the part of my job I love and delegating the rest. And as far as the fear goes, I felt the fear but pushed through and but did it anyway!
What is one piece of advice you'd give your pre-career 20 something self?
Pursue varied interests and the one you should stick with is the thing that you love!
What advice would you give to yourself when you were a young working mother?
Always make time for my daughter. I worked part-time while she was a baby and went full-time once she enters k5. I would not have given up my time with her for anything.
How would you like people to describe you or see you?
Caring, accepting, passionate and very driven.
When in your life have you felt most confident and why?
I would say right now, in my 40s, is the most confident I've ever been. I was in my 30s when I started my practice. I built my confidence up through personal spiritual and professional growth. Setting goals and smashing them is the best way to learn confidence. I absolutely have the confidence I lacked when I first started.
What has been your greatest achievement professionally? Tell us about that.
Coming in 2nd place for Denver’s best facial in 2014!
Do you have any exciting ambitions for the future?
I would love to grow Into the medical side of Aesthetics.
Are there any myths you'd like to bust about your profession?
Yes. A lot of people think facials are something you only do on special occasions and it’s not. My clients see me every month for maintenance.
What advice do you have for those starting a new business?
Be patient and work diligently and believe you will succeed. Act successfully from the start!
I like to end every interview with a favorite aspirational/success quote. What is yours?
"What you think you become what you feel you attract what you imagine you create ." --Buddah
