What to Expect from Your Full-Service Branding Photoshoot At Our Studio

If you’ve booked a Full-Service Branding Photoshoot, you might be wondering what the day entails. This overview walks you through every step—from pre-session planning to final image delivery—so you know exactly what to expect.

Style & Brand Consultation (Two Weeks Before)

Your experience begins with a one-hour Zoom consultation, scheduled two weeks prior to your photoshoot. During this meeting, we’ll discuss your goals, brand colors, ideal audience, and any individuals you’d like included in the session. I’ll also guide you through hair, skin, and nail prep, and help you curate a wardrobe that supports your personal brand and photographs beautifully.

Arrival & Set Design

On the day of your session, you’ll arrive at the studio and settle into our private dressing room. Together, we’ll review your outfits and discuss the role each look plays in your personal branding. This allows me to plan out the backdrops, posing furniture, and props needed for the day. To minimize hairstyle disruption, we’ll start with the outfit that works best for your first look.

Next, you’ll receive a full makeover by our licensed cosmetologist. She’ll provide a dry hair style and makeup application customized to your preferences—whether that’s natural, polished, glamorous, or something in between. The process typically takes 60–90 minutes, depending on hair length and style complexity.

Once your makeover is complete and final accessories are in place, we begin shooting. I’ll coach you through every pose and expression—down to your fingertips—so you feel confident and natural on camera. You’ll be photographed in full-body, three-quarter, and headshot formats across 5–7 outfits (depending on how quickly you change). In total, we capture around 500 images over two hours.

Some clients choose to include a loved one in part of the shoot. This client, for example, brought her husband for romantic couples portraits and solo business headshots.

Midday Break & Image Selection

Around 12:30pm, we take a break for lunch. Many clients use this time to enjoy a celebratory meal—especially if a partner is present. After lunch, you will return to the studio to review the 500–700 images from your session.

Together, we’ll go through all the photos, laugh at the silly moments, and narrow down the images to your absolute favorites. With over a decade of experience, I’ll help guide you through the selection process, focusing on expressions, variety, and where you plan to use your portraits.

Below is an example of the type of variety I photograph for each outfit, focusing on full body, three-quarter, and headshot framing. As you can see, there will be plenty of great options to choose from.

And here’s what made the final cut for this client.

Retouching & Final Delivery

Once you’ve chosen your images, they go through my signature 13-point magazine-quality retouching process. In approximately two weeks, your final portraits will be ready for both digital and print use.

A Transformative Experience

Clients consistently describe this experience as fun, empowering, and even transformative—many say they wish they had done it sooner. If you’re ready to elevate your brand and celebrate yourself in the process, I’d love to connect and answer any questions you have.
